Assessing efficiency of a regional investment policy: methodological and operational approaches

Roman Melnikov

Journal "Region: Economics and Sociology", 2007, vol. 3

Abstract: In practice, applying a cost and benefit analysis to assessing how effectively different entities conduct their investment policy, requires rather expensive researches to obtain proper information. At the same time there is a comparative method which allows assessing the effectiveness of an investment policy in general. The author shows the applicability of such method and concludes that its adaptation is an important reserve to increase the efficient use of the limited public investment resources aimed at the regional development.
