Benefits and Costs of a Physician to a Community

Hans D. Radtke

American Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1974, vol. 56, issue 3, 586-593

Abstract: The Pacific Northwest as one planning region does not appear to have a shortage of physicians. However, a serious misallocation of physicians within the region prevails. Construction of hospitals by rural areas as a means of attracting additional physicians may not always be a wise investment.
