Effect of a Controlled Price Increase on School Lunch Participation: Pittsburgh 1973

Abstract: Direct price elasticities of demand were computed for fully paying students who participated in the National School Lunch Program. For the first time, cross elasticities were computed for recipients of free, hot, Type A lunches. Results are related to earlier findings. Some methodological and program related constraints and implications are presented.
