A management game for use in teaching farm management

A. Hjortshoj Nielsen

European Review of Agricultural Economics, 1974, vol. 2, issue 3, 293-306

Abstract: Summary Problems in the construction of an actual management game are discussed and practical experiences with the application of the game in teaching farm management are described. The game includes features to simulate risk situations, and functions are introduced to illustrate the macro aspect of agricultural production where the assumption of perfect competition is abandoned. It is concluded that the management game approach has proved very valuable as a teaching aid. The prospects for other fields of application are also touched upon, but the programing and edp-problems are not dealt with. The game has been fully documented in a mimeographed report in Danish.
