Computerized farm management tools: Forecasting the demand

Bo Öhlmér, Sherill B. Nott and Stephen B. Harsh

European Review of Agricultural Economics, 1980, vol. 7, issue 2, 203-211

Abstract: This survey of hypothetical needs for computerized farm management tools is classified according to the time horizon and the type of farm enterprise and is compared with the needs indicated in published studies and with the computerized farm management tools available in Michigan (U.S.A.). Four classes of computerized methods are defined. Future challenges include the adoption by farmers and the institutional involvement in programmable hand calculators and microcomputers.
