Elderly Socioeconomics and Demographics: Issues and Thoughts for Agricultural Economics Research
Rodolfo Nayga
Review of Agricultural Economics, 1997, vol. 19, issue 1, 158-165
Abstract:
An increasing elderly population will be one of the most significant demographic changes to influence food and social policy debate in the United States in the next few decades. Social scientists would be remiss if they did not give this population group proper attention. Elderly socioeconomics and demographics provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research among agricultural economists and other social scientists. Some critical socioeconomic and demographic issues concerning the elderly are discussed here.
