Abstract: The immediate postwar period included Romania in the USSR influence sphere and marked its evolution, leading to a socialist self-isolation from the other countries of the world, which diminuated considerably our country’s chances to anchor itself to the international division of work and to the world circuit, to keep up with the international economic progress. But the changes in the political landscape, from Central and Eastern Europe, at the end of the eighth decade of the xxst century, led also to major changes in the economic field. One by one, the countries under the communist domination passed into another evolutionary stage, wishing strongly to become democratic states and free market economies. Romania’s adherence to the UE generated profound mutations in the developping of goods trade and marked the passage of our country into a new stage of aperture, development and setting of policies and business strategies.
