Abstract: Performance is a very contemporary concept, which in the specialists’ opinion has two components: efficacy and efficiency. Consequently, the knowledge society approach of performance generates the result of the knowledge revolution. The value that could be generated by knowledge depends on this performance. The present work has the intention to present several specific aspects concerning the concepts of performance and managerial performance, and their classification in a society of knowledge and information, called knowledge based economy, or knowledge society.
