Abstract:
The distributed databases are fundamental elements of the informatics systems contained in the infrastructure of an economic organization with offices distributed in various locations around the world. This paper presents the techniques by which a distributed database management system provides data distribution. For this, there are described fragmentation and data replication methods. The aim of data replication is to improve performance and to protect the availability of applications.
