Abstract: In the context of current economic crisis, in finding necessary measures to redress the global economy, this study makes a connection between the psychological factor, distrust, and the recovery precess. The problem of major interest in this conditions is what are the effects of distrust on economic processes, but also on the recovery of local and global economy. To this end, the author aims to analyze and carry out a study on the effects and psychological implications of this phenomenon, distrust, on businesses, organizations, on people and their way of action. The conclusion logically reached, through a qualitative and quantitative analysis, is that, both at microeconomic and macroeconomic level, distrust, caused by economic crisis, by uninspired measures of the leaders but also by negative predictions about the recovery, affects and hinders the prosperity and economic development. Restoring confidence can be the engine of the investment process and of economic growth.
