The Degree of Regional Specialization of Imports in Romania

Oana Stangaciu and Iulia Bucur

Ovidius University Annals, Economic Sciences Series, 2012, vol. XII, issue 1, 132-137

Abstract: In analyzing the evolution of the degree of specialization of regional imports in Romania in the period of time 2000-2010, we started from the study of the modifications made in the structure of the sections included in the CR for regional imports. In order to quantify the degree of regional specialization, we determined Onicescu’s informational energy, and in order to offer a synthetic view of the dynamic of regional import specialization, we calculated the Balassa indexes for each section.

Keywords: Balassa indexes of specialization for imports; Onicescu’s informational energy – corrected formula; sections of the Combined Register. (search for similar items in EconPapers)
