On the Economic Development of Romania as a Member of EU in the Frame of the Global Economic Crisis

Abstract:
Each country has its specific features and because of that, the evolutions of some indicators such as inflation, real exchange rate, current account, GDP, competitiveness, employment, and others, as well as trends determinants of real economic imbalances and improvement of divergence differs compared to other countries. In this paper we investigate, in a retrospective analysis, how Romania reacts as a member state of the European Union on its road to European Monetary Union amid intensifying the effects of the global economic crisis, and particularly those who included euro area.
