Abstract:
In the context of the accentuation of the negative impact of human activity on the environment, the energy efficiency issue becomes more and more important. The European Union has developed a package of policy measures in the field of energy in which energy efficiency is seen as a key that can provide fulfillment of other major EU targets. This paper analyzes the level and evolution of statistical indicators of energy efficiency at EU level, in relation to the rate of economic growth and research and development activity.
