Abstract: The industrial and human activities, in general, are entirely dependent on the existence of the water resource, putting important pressures upon those, both in terms of quantity and quality. The water resources from Constanta County comprise the Seaside water catchment area and the Danube water catchment area. The measures for improving the quality of surface waters, presented in this paper, are based on a series of studies conducted during the period of my Ph.D. internship, being present in the thesis “Studies concerning the impact of industrial activities on the areas with touristic potential”. In this regard, studies were conducted, in which we treated: ? The surface water sources; ? The sewerage network and the wastewater treatment plants; ? The lakes system for pisciculture and irrigations.

Keywords: surface source; wastewater treatment plants; pollution source; wetland technology; protection policies. (search for similar items in EconPapers)
