Abstract:
The economic crisis is a subject long debated at the national and international level, and it is analyzed by economists in all aspects. Extensive analysis of the causes and behavior indicators is motivated by the desire to anticipate the crisis behavior. An important component of economic life, also involving cross border cooperation is the mergers and acquisitions market. The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether the merger and acquisitions market and its activity can be used as an indicator for the international economic crisis. Examining the number of M & A over the years of crisis for international regions and for Romania, the paper determine the relationship between the concepts of M & A number and economic crisis and the way those concepts are related.
