Abstract:
The objective of this study is to illustrate the role women played in society, over the years, with an emphasis on the lexical structures that denote family and relations, in Mihail Moxa’s “Cronica universalã” (1620). The gender stereotype (requiring a person to act or dress a certain way) and gender discrimination (the unfair treatment of a person based on his or her gender) are closely analyzed throughout the text.
