Abstract: In this paper we intend to discuss issues concerning younger generation’s use of mobile media and communications and their impact on culture and society. We will provide examples of young people whose participation in social movements contributed to changing their society, arriving at the conclusion that young people are the driving force of both new media technologies and online activism. Lastly, we will set to prove that activism, social change and the practice of democracy are strongly interconnected.
