Abstract: In this research we investigated the implementation and employment of the information technologies in the financial-accounting department of the Romanian companies. The study is built on the results obtained at a survey conducted with Romanian accountants in 2014. The results show that there is an increase in the use of the sophisticated information technologies (such as the enterprise resource planning systems).
