Abstract: This paper aims at highlighting the inability of the annual financial statements in its present format , to restore economic substance , to present the true financially position of a company in the balance sheet. This inability is due to the use of " historical cost " valuation as the basis for all stocks, regardless of the operating flow stages located and their destination.
