Abstract: The cost benefit analysis represents a modern vision of the project investment approach which brings together the financial approach with the social approach. From the investor’s point of view it’s important to have a high probability of the transformation into reality of the investment possibilities which he selected and the obtaining of the anticipated return. From the company’s point of view, the positive/negative effects which the investment might have on the community and the environment are analysed. In synthesis, the achievement of the analysis aims to motivate the social and economical impact of the investment project, considering the following both aspects: the necessity of the implementation of the investment, and the necessity of the financing, I considered useful the exemplification of the concepts described with the examples from projects which I had the honour to work.
