The Need for Consumer Protection in the Consumerist Society

Abstract: In order to better understand the importance of the intervention within the market in favor of the consumer, and also the mechanisms by which it can be effectively implemented, the present paper presents the historical and social context of the assertion of the need for consumer protection and its evolution due to the development of a consumerist society.
