Aspects of Poverty and Social Exclusion in the Romania’s Development Regions

Abstract: In Romania, poverty has a specific territorial distribution, almost half the population lives in ruralareas, there are large gaps between the urban poor and undeveloped urban/developed, while a majorityof the population is hampered in terms both of revenue and of infrastructure and basic services. Thispaper is analyzed the rates of poverty and the main risks of poverty and social exclusion in the eightRomania’s development regions: North-West Region, Central Region, North-East Region, South-EastRegion, South-Muntenia Region, Bucharest-Ilfov Region, South-West Oltenia Region and West Regionin the period 2007-2015, based on data offered by INSSE.
