Abstract:
SMEs are an essential part of the economy, providing jobs and stimulating economic growth. Helped by digitalisation, SMEs will be a central part of the dual transition to a sustainable and digital economy. In order to make the economy green as inclusive and as broad as possible, SMEs will have to digitise their processes, provide more goods and services digitally and reduce their waste associated with the raw material economy. This paper deals with a sensitive topic – the digitisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a view to the socio-economic development of the regions and most importantly combating unemployment.
