Abstract: In this article we present a descriptive analysis based on the results of a research conducted regarding the e-learning process in higher education institutions. The aim of the study was to reveal students' perceptions of the distance learning process, to determine the influencing factors and to examine the potential and perspectives of this form of education for students and its use in order to improve the quality and accessibility of education.
