Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to explore China’s international economic relations from the perspective regarding the implications of China’s current Five-Year Plan for the economic growth and the country’s role in the global economy, in a world marked by the post-pandemic recovery and China’s stance on economic diplomacy. China’s flagship economic cooperation, under Belt and Road Initiative, the “1+6†Round Table and “17+1†Cooperation with the countries in the Central and Eastern Europe reflect China’s export of an alternative growth model based on investments in infrastructure and technology. Nonetheless, EU deemed China as a systemic rival and takes a more assertive stance on trade with and investments in China. The main conclusion is that China’s international partners voice out the need for fair market access and equal opportunities on levelplaying field economic competition on the markets, calling for reciprocity in international relations.
