Abstract: We live in a world characterized by the desire for economic growth and improved living standards, by often irrational government measures, by the struggle for the re-distribution of the spheres of influence and, last but not least, by the increasing frequency and impact of economic crises. The globalization of economy has inevitably led to the globalization of crises, a phenomenon that is generating both interest and concern. The aim of this paper has been to highlight the complex issues faced by mankind, issues which create the premises for the worsening of the crises in the medium- and long-term.
