The Impact of the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict on the Current Migration Phenomenon

Abstract: In recent decades, after the Second World War, we have become familiar with migration to Europe mainly for the purpose of work. In the European Union we have enjoyed the free movement of labour, goods, services and capital. But the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict revived in Europe the migration caused by the war, for humanitarian purposes or in other words, the struggle for security or survival of some human individuals is identified. Through this paper, we propose to analyze the impact that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has on the migration phenomenon, but also some contextual regional socio-economic effects.
