Abstract: Many of the industries need to adopt digital technologies to improve the overall activity. The hospitality industry is no exception, one of the means which enables the businesses to enhance their services and the interaction with customers is the use of QR codes. The purpose of the article was to explore the effects of the QR codes adoption in the activities of restaurants and cafes, emphasizing its important role in improving operational processes. The research performed among various restaurant and cafes owners, using semi-structured interviews, investigated how the QR codes were integrated in the day-to-day activity and the perceived impact. Furthermore, it explored the benefits, challenges and the plans for using this technology. The results provided a detailed analysis on how the QR codes were integrated, offering useful insights on how digital tools are improving businesses and the relationship with the customers.
