Abstract:
Abstract Forensic economics applies economic methods to matters within a legal framework. Forensic economists calculate pecuniary damages in both personal and commercial litigation, assess market power in antitrust disputes, prepare public policy analyses, and estimate the value of business assets. Forensic economists may testify in courts, arbitration proceedings, and before legislative and regulatory authorities. This article highlights the work and perspectives of two experienced forensic economists: Patrick L. Anderson, who has worked for three decades on public policy issues and has estimated economic damages in multiple high-profile cases; and Mona Birjandi PhD, who is an economist who brings a modern, data-centric approach to determining liability and estimating damages in labor and employment disputes
