Abstract: The paper deals with the issue of establishing the most adequate statistical parametric test in order analyze economic sets of data. A sample comprising 35 large corporations from Romania was selected in order to analyze the volume and the quality of occupational health & safety (OHS) disclosures. On the grounds that one dependent variable was defined – the global reporting index - and a number of independent numerical variables were also considered, such as the turnover, the number of employees, the return on capital, the market share and so on, we have performed the appropriate statistical tests in order to verify some hypotheses and to establish the appropriate procedure to be followed in order to analyze the correlations between the variables.
