Abstract:
The complex conditions and realities of the production processes of the mining industry require equally complex and highly developed theoretical-abstract instruments for their scientific investigation and research. One of these instruments could be identified in the production function of type B (Gutenberg). The present approach tries to outline a historical evolution of the concept of production function, to describe the main stipulations of Gutenberg’s concept, and finally, to advance some considerations regarding the possibilities of using this function for the study of processes in the mining industry, drawing rather valuable conclusions from this attempt.
