Abstract:
The European Community acts for economical and social cohesion strengthening, and especially to eliminate inequalities between development levels of different regions. It is the reason for which the member-states participates to a regional european policy co-financed with European funds, Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund, that confers a certain sense to community solidarity. One of the most important programs is ESPON 2013 - European observation network on territorial development and cohesion. The purpose of the ESPON 2013 Programme is to support the “reinforcement of regional policy with studies, data and observation of development trends”, seen as a necessity as part of Structural Funds 2007-2013.
