Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview on the income distribution across the eight regions of development in Romania. Being far from a thorough research, the paper aims to be a first step in analysing the drivers of inequality and provide policy guidance for future directions of action. In the first part of the paper I will provide a short literature overview on inequality and economic growth and pointing some measures of inequality. In the next section I will present some basic patterns of income distribution across the Romanian regions and drivers of change within the country and I will finally conclude.
