Abstract:
New technologies often bring a new way how to practically realize new ideas. For example usage of cloud computing technology can not only minimize operation costs of existing companies but accelerate creation of new startups too. Although there exist many supporting methods how to use them in practice their properties are not correctly used for business plan and strategy creation. Especially IT startups focus mostly on the technology properties only. They omit business aspects which often leads to startup failures. In this paper we analyse this issue and propose a possible solution that is based on the combination of clouds and real options method. The reason for the real options method selection is a volatility that is included in the method and that reflects risks and instability of the market environment.
