Abstract: The special issue of Acta Informatica Pragensia journal is focused on the issue of systems, when experts in this field, as well as in other disciplines, commemorate the 45th anniversary of the death of the founder and pioneer of systems theory - Ludwig von Bertalanffy. The presented article summarizes his contribution to systems science.
