Abstract:
Adam Smith is considering as the founder of political economy owing to his book Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. From the pages of his book not only speaks the economist but also moral thinker, historian, sociologist and politics - one of the last poly-historians who demonstrates compass almost whole knowledge of his time and incorporate in one opus magnum. The paper is split into two parts: first is focus on principle of invisible hand and laissez-faire and also on growth of the wealth of nations (To be continued in Politická ekonomie, 1997, č. 4).
