Demand for imported food from the developing and transitive countries

Abstract: The objective of the paper is providing a deeper in-sight look into the socially and politically sensitive problems of agrarian foreign trade of Czech Republic especially regarding the demand for imported food from the developing and transitive countries. The starting points are assumptions that an imported food are different from home-made food and could be divided into two groups per the origin country: developed country (consumers suppose better quality) and others countries. The article presents empirical and institutional situation in the foreign trade of agrarian and food industry of the Czech Republic with transitive and developing countries and an econometric analyse of demand for imported food from these countries.
