Abstract:
The article is part of the special issue of the journal, including the proceedings of the conference "Albert Hirschman scienziato sociale" held in Rome at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. The author comments upon his personal relations (both family ties and professional relations) with Hirschman, and discusses the latter's economic and social thought in opposition to the economic mainstream.
