University Students' Following Libraries YouTube Channels and their Attitudes Towards the Library and Reading

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between university students' following libraries' YouTube channels and their attitudes towards the library and reading. Participants included 303 students from different majors at Yarmouk University, who responded to an online questionnaire. The questionnaire assessed demographics, social media use, following libraries' YouTube channels, and attitudes towards the library and reading. Descriptive statistics and correlation analyses were conducted to analyse the data. The study found that a significant proportion of university students followed libraries' YouTube channels, and that following these channels was positively associated with their positive attitudes towards the library and reading. Additionally, the frequency of library use emerged as a significant predictor of following libraries' YouTube channels and positive attitudes toward the library and reading.
