SOME ESTIMATIONS CONCERNING THE INFORMAL ECONOMY IN ROMANIA
Emilian Dobrescu ()
Journal for Economic Forecasting, 2001, issue 1, 7-15
Abstract:
This paper discusses alternative approaches to the measurement of the informal economy in Romania. The author proposes two essential criteria regarding the economic classification, namely whether the respective activities are or are not reported through an official established document and whether they are or are not included in the national accounts. Starting from these concepts, a reestimate of the size of the informal economy in Romania is performed.
