The Development of Self-regulation of Business in Russia: Results and Recommendations

Polina Kryuchkova

Ekonomicheskaya Politika / Economic Policy, 2011, vol. 5, 135—147

Abstract: The article is devoted to the development of the self-regulation in Russia during the last 10 years. The research shows that the model of self-regulation chosen in Russia neither cuts the costs of regulation nor leads to the additional social gains comparing with the state regulation. The gap between self-regulation de jure and self-regulation de facto is one of the most serious problems. The author gives some policy advice on improvement of the self-regulation system in Russia.
