Abstract: The paper focuses the teacher-researcher occupation and it is a comparative study, based on a qualitative study of the norms and reglementations. The major aims are: (i) to realize a comparative presentation of the definition of the competencies and occupational standards for teacher and researcher in economics in Romania and France, showing the differences, diversity and specificity of the Romanian classification, and (ii) to identify ways that certain disciplines of economic curricula may contribute to initial specific skills of the teacher-researcher.
