Abstract: Performance measurement is used in business to develop or sustain a competitive advantage. This paper presents the influence of performance measurement in companies along with the need of implementation of a performance management system, or improvement of the current one. In recent years, more and more companies use the lean and quality management tools that are present in both the literature and industry. As the economic conditions change and the competition increases, the businesses constantly need to improve and optimize their processes and approaches in order to follow the Key Performance Indicators
