Worker Participation in Canada: Current Developments and Challenges

Abstract: This paper deals with changes in Canadian industrial relations that have occurred in the last decade and how the various changes and trends have had an effect on 'employee participation' at the level of an enterprise. The discussion on recent changes and trends is limited to three areas: (1) collective bargaining; (2) employee involvement and participation in technological changes and innovations; and (3) employee ownership, privatization and gain-sharing programmes.
