On Industrialization and Labour Market Segmentation in Thailand and Malaysia

Abstract: This article compares the results of three surveys among workers at industrial sites in Thailand and Malaysia. An analysis of labour data together with information on ownership and technology of the studied industries indicates how the structure of labour market segmentation changes when local and global production systems integrate.
