Abstract:
The Texas Department of Human Resources provided family planning services to more than a quarter of a million women in the fiscal year 1981 through its Title XX and XIX programs. In order to evaluate the impact of these services, estimates were made of the number ofpregnancies, births, abortions, and miscarriages averted by theprogram. These estimates were then used to calculate the costs and benefits attributable to the program's services.
