Abstract:
Principles of economics texts not only reveal the essential elements of orthodox economic theorizing, but they also contain an ideological message and are intended to explain economic reality. This paper summarizes major criticisms of such texts, showing that they are poorly equipped to explain reality. It concludes by suggesting a more meaningful approach.
