Abstract:

Příspěvek se zaměřuje na historický vývoj počítacích pomůcek od dávného starověku až po osobní počítače standardu IBM PC. Popisuje první počítací pomůcky, první mechanické počítací stroje až po ukládání dat. Je v něm zachycen též bouřlivý vývoj počítacích strojů ve druhé polovině dvacátého století.

This paper focuses on the historical evolution of computing tools from ancient antiquity to the personal computer, the IBM PC standard. It describes the first computing devices, the first mechanical calculating machines to store data. It has also captured the dramatic development of calculating machines in the second half of the twentieth century.
