Considering a cognitive distance in knowledge-based Theory of a firm

Abstract:
The impact of organizational knowledge and cognitive functions on the activities of the modern enterprise are considered in the article. According to author opinion, the problem of integration of cognitive possibilities of individuals at the use of knowledge for creation of new products and services is not solved yet. The reasons of existence, boundaries, organizational structure and functioning of the enterprise in accordance with the knowledge-based approach are proposed. Reasons of existence and competitive edges of enterprise are based in possibility of creation, combining and use of knowledge with greater efficiency in relation to a market. The uniqueness of knowledge as a resource is formed by integration of documented encoded knowledge and expertise of staff. The hierarchy of factors which represent connection of knowledge with cognition and influence on activity of enterprise is offered. Knowledge-based theory of the firm is developed by considering the cognitive distance, provides efficient transfer of explicit and tacit knowledge, and as a consequence, the effective implementation of innovations.
