Abstract: The questions of necessity of passenger railway traffic speed increasing as one of the main factors of railway transport competitiveness increasing are developed at the article. The stages of organization of speed passenger traffic improvement by using of existing rolling stock which is explored in existing conditions without high speed main road creation are proposed.
